Whether you’re a tourist from afar or a tourist in your own town, please take a little time out to support the volunteers that keep our heritage alive. Come visit us at the Echuca Historical Society Museum, located in the historic Port of Echuca precinct.
Echuca Historical Society is a welcoming and diverse group of individuals committed to preserving the history of our community. We welcome new members and volunteers enthusiastically. By becoming a member, you are helping to conserve Echuca’s history for present and future generations.
The benefits of membership include receiving our newsletter In Touch, access to our research archive and collection, invites to our exhibitions, special events and opening nights as well as the various other activities we have during the year.
As an active and vibrant society, members have the opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals and fellow history enthusiasts. Some members become involved by volunteering at our Museum, whilst others join to help support the preservation of our history and get involved in exhibitions and heritage advocacy programs.
Our Museum is staffed wholly by volunteers, who open and run every day of the year except Good Friday and Christmas Day. The museum houses a large collection of artefacts relating to our regional and riverboat history, extensive archives, as well as a state-of-the-art research facility. We also have many interesting in-house exhibitions focusing on various aspects of Echuca/Moama’s history running throughout the year.
So if you are a newcomer to the town or have lived here forever, please come down and have a chat. We have plenty of positions to interest everyone.
