Search this database for more than family names. You will need to think laterally as some items are listed by the person's first name ie: William Johnes, not Johnes William as expected.
Also remember the name may be entered phonetically, or spelled with double or single letters. You will also find paddle steamer names, events, places, and much more.
There may be a lot of information, or not much at all, however, all these names are on our database for a reason.
Our Research Database is available for download in these three sections.
We update our in-house database regularly, so if your name is not here please ask a researcher.
Please note that we hold all editions of the local newspaper "Riverine Herald" from 1863-1997 on microfilm. Copies of the "Riv" from March 1998 to December 2001 have also been uploaded to Trove. Papers from 2002 forward are available in the EHS Research Centre.
Most issues to 1903 have been indexed, but as Trove has the paper online to 1954 we are focusing on 1955 forward which can be very time-consuming to research. If you require research please give us plenty of time and an approximate date.
Indexing of 1955 to 1959 has now been completed. Editions from the 1960's to the 1990's are currently being indexed. This project is ongoing, so stay tuned as new indexes are added regularly.
If you find it difficult to access Trove please feel free to contact us for assistance via our films.
