On 1 st January 1862 Edward Cole and George Burnell left from this section of the river for a journey down the Murray River.
Taking photographs of Stations, Settlements, Aboriginal Communities and collecting Botanical specimens.
They rowed & drifted 1700 Kilometres for 4 months.
Edward Cole returned to Melbourne establishing the Cole Book Arcade and George Burnell to Adelaide and a photography business.
The set of stereograph photos of their trip remain the earliest of the Landscape and its people.
