You will need to think laterally as some items are listed by the person's first name ie: William Johnes, not Johnes William as expected.
Also remember the name may be entered as it sounds, or spelled with "tt" not one as you expect.
You will also find paddlesteamer names, events, places and much more.
There may be a lot of information, or not much at all, however all these names are on our database for some reason.

Researchers please note we have the local newspaper "Riverine Herald" from 1863-1997 on microfilm, and from August 2005> on disc. Most issues to 1903 have been indexed but as Trove has the paper online to 1954 we are now focusing on 1955 forward which is very time consuming to research, so if you require research please give us plenty of time and try to give us an approximate date. Indexing of 1955 to 1959 completed. This project is ongoing with new indexes added regularly.

All enquiries incur a basic research fee with no guarantee that information will be found.
It is important to provide as much detail as possible (e.g. dates, names, locations, etc).
This will help to establish the correct family / property details are provided.
It takes at least a couple of hours to locate a connection to enquiries and even longer in searching rates notices and newspaper articles.
Please note: Due to the nature of our archives self research is not possible.
The archivists are always available by appointment, or can be contacted by mail or email.
Also note an embargo may apply to some sensitive records/files.
For those travelling some distance, for research purposes or to view family artefacts we may have, it is
recommended that you contact us prior to your visit to make an appointment.
