Echuca Historical Society located in the 'National Trust' building of the '1969 Echuca Police Station and Cell complex' has been in operation since 1960, collecting and preserving the history of the town and area.
It is a local history museum, with a strong focus on recording the early settlement along the Murray River, and has an extensive collection of photos and archives including the Riverine Herald since 1864 and Council Rate Books since 1863 on microfilm which can be called upon when required.
Our museum is operated by volunteers and is open 11am till 3pm, 7 days per week, with special attention given to visiting schools, groups and social clubs.  Should you need assistance (ie wheelchair or such) please let us know prior. You can drive into our yard and be amongst the exhibits immediately.

NOTE: Days of 40 degrees or more we may close approx 2pm.

Members are daily working with the collection and conservation of historical items, and the furthering of the knowledge of our history and heritage within the community.
Several of our members are very experienced researchers, addressing enquiries for research from the general public, developers, state & local Government departments.
